Digital Careers Show – Copper Box Arena, 7th July 2016

“[Techmix Digital Careers Show] allowed the students to interact with over 100 leading local digital, creative and media employers - including Barclays, Cisco, City & Guilds, UKTV, and AOL. The students were inspired by the many and varied college, university and career paths that they had not considered before.”
Mrs Peck, The Priory School

“[After Techmix Digital Careers Show] many have walked away with a very positive outlook into future options, feeling better prepared to make the best of new opportunities”.
Subhash Mepani, IT Teacher, Harrow College

“The stand out success from our perspective was how confident and well prepared the students were when approaching us on our stand. They had very clear ideas of what information they wanted and asked exactly the right questions to get it – students today, proving to us they are the leaders of tomorrow.”
Max Costick, Managing Director, Tech Partnership

“It was such an honor to have Fiverr included in Techmix Digital Careers Show. Through this event, we have been able to successfully recruit some bright new talent to our platform as sellers, and truly believe in the notion ‘where talent meets opportunity.’”
Liron Smadja, Marketing Manager, Fiverr

“The Tech Partnership workshops were a great way to engage with young people from schools we haven’t had the chance to visit before. It’s important we offer young people the kind of opportunities they wouldn’t normally get – and for us, it means we get to meet students who are enthusiastic about IT.”
Sofia Michalopoulou, HR executive at Tata Consultancy Services
(Tata’s workshop included a team challenge on the theme of the Internet of Things, with a prize of one week’s work experience for the winning team.)

“We’re [at Digital Careers Show] to change the perception of Balfour Beatty. People know us as a construction company but technology is radically transforming the way we work and the way we deliver for our customers. It runs through everything we do: from safety to visualisation of design to digital engineering. Even to site inspections, where the use of drones is now common.”
Mel Page, digital transformation manager at Balfour Beatty

“It was an inspiring day, meeting hundreds of digitally minded individuals and hearing about the Mayor of London’s plans to aid companies, such as ours, to support as many learners as possible!”
Estelle Lumb, operations officer of Digital Skills Solutions

“When I chose the apprenticeship route, it was scary. Most of my friends were going to university and I was doing something different. I had to do a lot of research off my own back, so it would have been amazing to come to an event like this and meet so many apprentice-friendly employers in one place. Sharing my journey as an apprentice with young people has been a fantastic experience.”
Pav Dhillon, Digital Marketing Apprentice, QA Apprenticeships

“People are nervous about the future, especially after the referendum result. Employers are getting more and more interested in apprenticeships, which they see as a low risk investment in talent. [Digital Careers Show is] brilliant. Just brilliant”.
Bruce Simpson, Training Provider, Just IT

“It’s been great! We’re here because we want teachers to know about the wealth of resources and CPD they can tap into. We’ve been delighted – interested teachers, motivated students and a great atmosphere.”
Iris Lanny, Programme Manager Oracle Academy

“We’re excited and honoured to be working with the Digital Careers Show, an initiative set up by Techmix Mag, in partnership with the London Enterprise Panel. Events like this are invaluable for both young people in and around London, and businesses looking to recruit the best digital talent out there. Having exhibited at previous events, I’ve been amazed by the talent and enthusiasm some of the attendees have shown, and we’ve recruit some great talent ourselves as a direct result of this initiative.”
Filip Greenwich, founder of VISU.AL

“A great opportunity to meet potential students and build networks with tech/digital employers.”
Lesley Thain, Head of Employer Engagement and Co-founder at Silicon Hack

“It was a pleasure to promote the Leeds City Region as a great place to live and work. We have unfilled vacancies in the Digital Skills sector and suggest people take a look at what we can offer; they may be surprised.”
Lindsey Johnson, Leeds LEP
